We host 4 events a year to promote education of heathy eating and bring you the latest news in nutrition and the food industry.

The events are held in the winter (Jan-Feb), spring (March-April), summer (May-June).  They will be posted here 4 to 6 weeks before the event date, so make sure you come back often.

Meet The Farmers

Farmer's Market visit from May to September

The farmer's market is a festival of colors from May to September.  Join Dominique for a fun and educational tour where you will discover new foods, sample fresh fruits and vegetables, learn how to chose produce according to color, ripeness, and size.  Learn how to store fruits, vegetables, and herbs.   You will go home with new recipes that will make it easy to enjoy this summer bounty and surprise your friends with new cooking skills.  Previous recipes included stuffed zucchini with walnuts and pine nuts, fresh cucumber soup, grilled peaches with ice cream, watermelon granita, and many more.

The visits will be conducted in small groups no larger than 8, every Saturday morning from mid-May to mid-September.  Please contact us to reserve a day for your visit.

Winter Seminar:

Menopause, Nutrition, and Weight Loss

Our first seminar this year is called Menopause, nutrition, and weight loss. We will cover various topics related to weight loss and menopause such as the body chemistry change after 40, the reasons behind the “muffin top”, small steps to take to stay healthy and enjoy Menopause. The class structure includes a presentation, a meal plan for 1 week with recipes, guidelines, and support.

You will learn about stubborn belly fat, what causes bloating, how to prevent osteoporosis, how to tame hot flashes, most importantly, how to take small manageable steps to change your diet.

A nurse practitioner and therapist, Beth Renne will talk about coping with menopause symptoms the natural way, without medications or gimmicks. A healthful lunch will be served for all attendees. So join us for 2 hours of fun, education, and good food. Details are below.

Public Programs

Zizania coaches are available to speak to your group. The presentation aims to inform the audience about the benefits of a plant-based diet, and introduce people to the delicious food you can create with Zizania’s methods.

Eating in the Office

This session shows your employees how to prepare delicious, quick, and easy sandwiches while in the office. This will help them develop better eating habits, avoid restaurants, and vending machines. Attendees will watch and sample foods prepared before them. They will also learn how to combine ingredients to obtain the best nutrition value and save money. (Duration: 2 hours / Attendance: up to 50 people)
